Time Goes By

by Benjamin Ishmael   Jun 10, 2007

Tick tock as you watch the clock
Waiting for the ring to come
Patience is a virtue that we seldom have
The minutes keep turning as I watch time go by

Thoughts go through your mind and into view
As I sit and listen to the silence all around me
I hear nothing but the sound of clicking
As I watch the sky turn into darkness

Tick tock goes the clock that I see
Nothing seems to make this day go by
The urge to check my messages is there in my mind
Sitting here and taking a deep breathe with a sigh

I close my eyes as the day turns to night
Looking at the minutes of time that flew by
Will anything turn back the hand of time
As I sit listening to the ticking of the clock that doesn't lie

When you have the day turn from bright to darkness
The clock says silently that the day has ended
One last thought to see if time has unveiled the message
At last you got the ticking of the clock to stop in your mind
