Past

by beautiful xx disaster   Jun 11, 2007

I don't think you can see me,
You jump everytime you hear my voice,
You're gone by the time I count to three,
It's like you avoid me by choice.

The pathways were we used to meet,
Are now deserted roads,
Our meetings in the past were all discreet,
With our notes in secret codes.

Do you remember when we used to dance,
Out on the streets with boys boxers on?,
Sometimes it would rain by chance,
But we would never wish it to be gone.

Now every time I hear the rain I freeze,
Images of the past project in my mind,
I walked in to see you on your knees,
I ran out and never looked behind.

Do you realize how much you hurt me?,
Out of all the people that needed it to be real,
I never thought it would be you, you see?,
It wasn't even just a boy to steal.

I knew he would cheat but I still stayed true,
It was my decision to keep it that way,
You didn't have to be the one to make the first move,
Some girl would do it another day.

I told you how I felt time after time,
He was the one guy I wanted to try to stick to,
You knew the way it worked in my mind,
But you still did what I would have never expected you to do.
