Daddy i miss you

by Xx Chrissi xX   Jun 11, 2007

Daddy I miss you,
She used to cry at night,
She used to long for his hugs,
For everything to be alright.

She knew that he loved her,
And she knew she loved him too,
But when he wasn't there,
She knew not what to do.

She'd sit alone,
And hide her tears,
She'd needed him,
For so many years.

But when he was there,
The pain was all gone,
And for just a few days,
The sun actually shone.

But fewer and fewer,
Were the good times shared,
And she started to learn,
That he never really cared.

A few years went by,
And nothing was the same,
And all she wanted,
Was to feel safe again.

The love grew smaller,
And started to fade,
And things wouldn't change,
No matter how she prayed.

So she began to withdraw,
Into her own little shell,
For all she wanted to do,
Was scream, cry and yell.

The lack of love,
Grew into distaste,
And she started to feel,
Like the time was a waste.

She spent each weekend,
Locked up in her room,
Trying not to cry,
As she felt her heart boom.

She knew she couldn't,
Carry on this way,
So she spent each night,
Dreading the day.

She left him a note,
That said how she felt,
But not every detail,
As she felt her heart melt.

She felt so bad,
As she said her goodbyes,
She ran up to her room,
And started to cry,

She felt so ashamed,
To have caused him pain,
But showing him love,
She could no longer feign.

As the months passed,
She didn't see him again,
And slowly her guilt,
Replaced the pain.

But as she walks down the street,
And I see these happy families,
I wonder what it would be like,
To be a part of one of these.

She no longer sits crying,
Missing him at night,
She misses what he was,
When she thought she was alright.

But she knows she made it up,
All the happy times inside,
For all he ever really did,
Was work, drink and hide.

He hid from responsibility,
And was left with none to leave,
I don't know if the consequences,
Even make him grieve.

She buries all the memories,
And hides in her own world,
She wishes she could once again,
Be a happy little girl.

But life has brought upon her,
So many trials to take,
And she feels as if every choice,
She ever made was a mistake.

She pretends that all is fine,
And smiles the same old smile,
But every now and then,
She shows her feelings for a while.

No one ever notices,
The pain locked up inside,
And sometimes she starts to wonder,
Why she makes the effort to hide.

She misses her version of daddy,
The one she always saw,
But to her that version of daddy,
Doesn't exist any more.

So she buries the feelings once again,
And puts on a brave face,
She knows no one would notice,
But she hides the pain, just in case.

In darkest night alone she cries,
Wishing she could be free,
And she whispers to the open air,
Daddy, I'm so sorry.
