Awaiting a prince

by Marie   Jun 11, 2007

A young maiden awaits her prince
and along comes a man in rags
who asks for her hand
in marraige

she ignores him of course
wanting none other than the best
only to find out
he would never come

so one day while she was crying
the man returns
and offers her sympathy
and cries

Then after a day of compassion
he sets off
after asking her again
to marry him

"I'm sorry"she said in tears
I'm awaiting my prince
So he leaves her behind
forever

One day it was decreed
the prince had found a wife
in curiousity and disbelief
she set off

Arriving at the crowded palace
she sees in front the man in rags
only now in a crown
with his wife

"you were waiting
for your prince"
he explained
"not me"
