Look through my eyes..

by Jess   Jun 11, 2007

Look through my eyes, I could barely see,
As I drove away, my tears engulfed me.
Maybe I should have stopped, cause all I could see,
Was your smiling face; my last memory..

As you waved goodbye, I bit my lip;
Trying to stop my heart starting to rip.
I didn't want you to see, the moment it split,
But it's leaving a trail behind me, as it falls, bit by bit..

I wish that I had, crashed into that tree,
So you could have come, to rescue me.
All I wanted then, was to hold your hand,
And tell you everything, so you could understand..

I wish that I hadn't, hidden from you
The feelings that, I've always known were true.
Cause now I've lost my chance, and everything's gone:
I just want to tell you, you were always my one..

Look through my eyes; see my trail left behind:
My body's here, but the rest I cant find.
All I can see, is that last picture of you:
My arms are outstretched, for only a view..

    Jess,

"Look through my eyes; see my trail left behind:

Wonderful poem with an awesome ending. Loved it.

"Look through my eyes; see my trail left behind:

Especially loved these two lines. I have certainly been there and done that. So many of us live in a kind of limbo waiting for the pieces to fall into place so we can once more stake claim to our mind, soul, and heart. Until then we exist in the eptiness of all but the shell that holds our memories.

    Always,
    Jeannie
