Short poems about love (7)

by miss insecurity   Jun 12, 2007

I love you
Is said too much.
It's lost its meaning,
You've lost your touch.

My heart is for the taking
Soon it will be breaking
My hands they won't stop shaking
And on you lies all the blame

You can't cure the sick, bring back the dead,
Feed the hungry or heal the blind
But you own my body and my soul,
You own my heart and mind.

Love is that word that you can't quite remember
When you need it the most
Only to realise it later on
But by then it's too late and long lost.

I think I think
I think I just might
But just let me be
Why can't you see?
That I'm just trying to get over you

You'd be happy to play catch with me
He's only up for a game of baseball
But he is helping me up from the ground
And you were the one that made me fall

Why do you write our names
With a heart in between?
When all that heart symbolises,
Is another broken dream.
