Is It Wrong? (246)

by NinjaGirl   Jun 12, 2007

Look at her face
You'll see her pain
The tears of depression
Made her life a flame.

Look at her eyes
They used to be bright
But the sparkle dies
She has no light.

For every word spoken
For every aggrieved sigh
The pain heightens her senses
She's only ever tried.

She says that she'll be alright
But she's lying to herself
See the knife slit her wrists?
She wanted you to help.

All she got was neglection
And now she's so depressed
She wants to start all over
See, her life's a mess.

Is it wrong for me to say these things?
That you make her suffer even more
Then she's ever suffered
Listen! You can't ignore.

If it's wrong to say these things
Then it's wrong for every other
Who's ever been mistreated
By their own estranged mother.

It's not wrong to question this
Otherwise I could ask why the moon waned and waxed
I could ask why seasons change
Or why you're so relaxed.

Don't you feel anything for your daughter?
Not even pity?
If you weren't so aggressive and negative
She wouldn't even think of quitting.

Look at her tears
Streaming down her face
Reach to her
And embrace.

Ever since she lost
Her one and only dad
She's lost everything she loved
Everything she had.
