Wings once so bright,
Are speckled with dust,
She'd started her flight,
As she'd known she must.
The flight had been hard,
With many a trial,
She knew she couldn't make it,
Yet lived in denial.
She flew night and day,
With a will oh so strong,
She knew there was a place,
Where she felt she could belong.
Yet as she flew over,
The world way below,
The aching inside her,
Started to grow.
Her wings started failing,
As she whirred to the ground,
Wondering how long,
Before she'd be found.
Her shaky descent,
Left her stumbling along,
She fell to her knees,
And she knew she'd been wrong.
She lay in the dirt,
For three agonizing years,
Letting out a cry,
That evaded people's ears.
Then her throat became sore,
And her cry slowly ceased,
Her long-lasting hope,
Slowly decreased.
But one kindly soul,
Was alert to her call,
He'd been searching since the day,
That he'd felt his angel fall.
He found her at last,
Laying helpless on the floor,
And his love and his care,
Gave her strength once more.
He carried her silently,
Not once did he moan,
And only when he had to,
Did he leave her alone.
The angel's strength returned,
As she stared into his eyes,
And her look of admiration,
She couldn't disguise.
She'd seen so many people,
Helped them when their lives had burned,
She'd never known the kindness,
That she'd shown would be returned.
It may be an angels job,
To keep an eye on you,
But when your angel falls,
Then what will you do?
Keep your angel strong,
And help them in their flight,
Your kindness towards them,
Will keep their wings so bright.
The meaning of this poem isn't as clear as i intended so i thought i would explain. Basically, when you have someone looking out for you, helping you out when you feel you have nothing to live for, don't take them for granted. Everyone has their own problems and need someone to return the favour of caring. When you have an angel, don't ever let them fall.
