Nothing lasts forever

by The Angel of Secrets   Jun 12, 2007

If I could chose, I'd stay here forever.
Sitting in your arms, feeling your heat.
No need for words, no need to be clever.
Just listening to you, and your small heart beat.

If I could pick, I'd walk for miles.
A never ending walk, down a silent beach.
Days and nights, with endless smiles.
Minutes go by, we enjoy every and each.

If I could love, I'd love you always.
Touch you like everyday was our last.
Hand in hand, we'd spend our days.
They would go by lovely, but still to fast.

If I could chose, I would stop the time,
Cause I could die tomorrow, whenever.
But the truth is bitter, just as a lime.
Nothing lasts forever.

There is such truth in this poem, hun. I love it. The flow was flawless and the rhyming didn't sound forced at all. The descriptiveness and the way you wrote this created clear imagery in my mind, with a poweful and true ending. A well penned poem. Well done. =] 5/5

    Love,
