The Solo

by x Mo x   Jun 12, 2007

A still silence falls over the room
As my fingers touch the string.
One solemn note plays out
Bouncing off the walls in an endless ring.

I close my eyes
And let my fingers fall.
Each note accented
As I sit up tall.

My fears and cares
All fall away.
Each phrase kills a memory
Of another painful day.

One somber note
Right after the another.
Holding each painful thought
Of my should be mother.

Scenes flash through
My head as I bow.
There's never a break
In the endless flow.

No longer on stage
In my thoughts
I am other places
Re-learning the lessons I've been taught.

Measure after measure,
Beat after beat,
Memories fly through my my heart
Of the times I played around the street.

A small vibrato
Shivers in the room.
My fingers never stop.
The end is coming soon.

The final note
Rings out in peace.
The song is finished
But the feelings will never cease.

Wow... Beautiful, but it made me sad. Was a little wordy sometimes, but... like... the poem, itself made up for it. if you know what I mean.
    Thanks for the comment,
    Happy writing.
