Today is the day i get over you.
But today's just another day.
The pain is nothing new.
The memories overwhelm you as you recognize yourself in the lonely lost girl standing on the sidewalk, fighting the tears.
As her heart lays beating on the cold, wet cement.
Losing the fight, a small solitary tear escapes her eyes.
Falls down her cheeks, and dies on her lips.
Why isn't he here to wipe them away?
Because he's gone & she doesn't know where to turn.
Where to go.
So she turns and runs,
with only her feet guiding her,
she's clueless as to where she's going, where they will lead her.
Slowly but surely she ends up in the woods
Spreading her wings,
she screams.
"TAKE ME AWAY"
and falling to her knees she whispers
"please" "just take me away"
Her wings spread wider and wider as she rises..
looking up,
she smiles.
Eyeliner and mascara stream down her face, but her smile makes her beautiful.
"thank you"
you see her fly away,
as to where, you don't know.
But you recognize yourself in her & you realize that just like her, you too can fly away, to leave the pain behind,
