Somebody's Somebody

by Beautiful Chaos   Jun 13, 2007

She didn't know where she was going,
This road seemed to go on forever,
She watched the sun kiss the horizon,
And dreamed of the life she wanted.

She thought she was going to be someone,
Thought she'd make a difference,
Life was nothing like she dreamed,
She couldn't seem to make a change.

She was always somebody's somebody,
She had never gone it alone,
She never learned to see herself,
The time has come, she's flown.

You never understood her,
You couldn't spare the time,
Until the day she's leaving,
And you get left behind.

Guilty doesn't cut it,
Apologies turn to dust,
You're left with just her memory,
As she fades into the dusk.

Not sure of where she's going,
But glad as hell she's free,
Her past is slowly melting,
She's learning now to breathe.

^^ Those lines were amazing, they really stood out to me. I loved the imagery as well as how strong of a beginning it was.
