Summer in the Silent Air

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Jun 13, 2007

Picking Daisies; we layed upon a field of gold,
Flashing a milky smile; my hand you began to hold,
And as I looked into your eyes of bright sky blue,
You whispered: "I want to spend my life with you."

You laughed as tears started to cloud in my eyes,
And I looked back at you as I slowly sighed:
"My hopes are so high you could kill me with a kiss,
And life by your side is something I won't miss."

My heart was pressed against yours; racing so fast,
And your arm was around my waist; laying in the grass,
With your lips pressed against mine; I was swept away,
As we held each other under the starlit sky that day.

Summer in the silent air; it tastes so bittersweet -
Sneaking out the back doors; being so discrete,
Laying down on the floating dock; counting stars,
Making empty promises; naming those forever ours.

Awwww, Such a sad write. Memories of the love gone by. Sometimes we just can't escape what might have been. I loved the referance of bittersweet, how many times have memories haunted me about some place I have been but yet I wouldn't give anything for the memories no matter the lies and hurt I would feel from that moment. Ahhhhh, Touching, beautiful, saddening, yet inspiring. Loved it.
