They Don't Understand

It's dark in here
I cannot see,
Why does all the problems that occur
Have to devour me?

What have I done to deserve this?
Am I a disgrace?
Questions that destroy me
And send tears down my face

Is it my fault? Could I have avoided it?
The blame is always on me
I can't do anything right,
I should just let it be

I shouldn't drag up questions
That I have no answer too
But in the end it always boils down with
Was it me or you?

Of course the answer is me
I say that without even blinking
I don't need to analyze the world
When it's me everyone is thinking

I know I stuffed up,
But it does take two
And you're the one being avoided
And there's nothing that I can do

I wish they wouldn't take it out on you
They should be mad at me
You're just a little baby
And I feel like I need to flee

The looks I get, the negativeness
Just makes me want to cry
And all I need to know is
Why take it out on you, why?

But I can't do anything about it
So I'll do it on my own
We'll settle down somewhere
And that will be our home

And I will love you forever
And hopefully you'll love me
And there will be the two of us
Our own small family
