A New Life

by Jacqui Armstrong   Jun 13, 2007

A new house, a new start.
Time to take my life apart.
A new room, a new bed
Somewhere safe to rest my head.

From a large old town,
Scaling rite the way down.
To a village so small,
With no friends at all.

I thought it would be great,
A new life to create.
But now I'm here I can see,
There's nothing much around for me.

No friends to keep me sane,
I start to dream life again.
My new life, but nowhere to go,
My new house, with nothing to show.

This poem is pretty sad. I liked the structure and rhyming in this peice. There are such strong emotions in this poem, it's not wasy to move from a place you grew up in... Many can relate to the subject.

    Great job 5/5

Nicely penned. The flow and rhyme were superb, and I relate to the feelings portrayed entirely. Another good piece from you!

It started off so happy and then drifted into a bittersweet mood.
    You did it perfectly!
It's a case of 'the grass is always greener..' i think =)
