Hitt and Run

by Holly   Jun 13, 2007

I held your hand through the parking lot.
You smiled and talked so sweet.
I opened my door,
and headlights hit your face.
You wave goodbye.
And I fall right out of place.
And if I would have known
this was our last goodbye.
I would have said something more.
Then see you soon.

And its a grand old hitt and run.
He wont open up for anyone.
Not even me.
And I wish I was her,
Sitting on your bedroom floor.
Watching you play your games.
I only wish I wasnt one of them.
And I aint no mario.
I can really die.
And it broke my heart.
To have to say goodbye.
But what was I?

I saw the photos from your trip.
It should have been me you took with.
Smiling faces, a foreign thing to me.
I said goodbye,
Look what Ive done to me.
But youre no prince charming,
You dont have crown.
And there was no point to me sticking around.
