Emotion

by Skyfire   Jun 13, 2007

The sky thickens
and the stars pour through
Look to the heavens
as the clouds grow black
Lightning streams down
into trees bowed with
the weight of the wind.
Feel the touch of the dark
palms to the sky
scream with fire
and thunder in your veins
An electrified world
crackles with energy
and burns your voice
One spark flares,
shimmers,
brightens-
Illuminating scars of steel
jagged like the torn sky,
fading shadows
in the fiery breath of life
Close your eyes and hear
the cascading chords
caught in the eye of the storm....

I love storms and the passion of emotion-being alive and you have really captured both these things so perfectly in this poem. I love the images and the feeling here. This is an excellent poem.
