My Happy Ending

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Jun 13, 2007

The bottle's calling my name; chanting threats,
And my breath smells like last night's cigarettes,
But these four walls are caving in around me -
They won't let me forget the man you used to be.

I tore apart the pillows; ripped up the bed sheets -
Cursed and screamed to the moon of your deceit,
I haven't slept in days; eyes are bloodshot red,
And the whiskey and nicotine is getting to my head.

I can hear your sweet voice; calling me to you,
But you're not here; I've searched the whole house through,
I looked in every corner; stared out every window,
Where you ran off to when you left, I don't know.

You thought you knew me all to well; so you said:
"There are way too many thoughts stuck in my head,
But I've just got say; I think you'd be much more happy,
If you turned your back and walked away from me."

You put my heart in your back pocket; turned away,
Let go of my hand; said it was over for good that day,
"This is goodbye, I'm sick and tired of pretending;"
Were your last words, so this is my happy ending?

Awesome!!!! Like I have said you always tell a story within your poem and my how you shocked me with this one. Reminds me of my ex fiance. You speak of so much to be so young. My only wish is that you have not experienced the pain of the things you have written. You have quickly became one of my favorite poetess. Awesome Job,

I liked the flow on this one.

I tore apart the pillows; ripped up the bed sheets -
Cursed and screamed to the moon of your deceit,
I haven't slept in days; eyes are bloodshot red,
And the whiskey and nicotine is getting to my head.
