Behind Your Eyes

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Jun 14, 2007

She faces him with her bags; standing at the door,
His breath still wreaking of the night before,
And he grabs her hands in his; she pulls away and sighs:
"Baby, don't say a word; the truth's behind your eyes."

She purses her lips; turns her back and walks away,
And he runs after her; grabbing onto her hand to say:
"I know what you must be thinking; but it's not true!"
And she laughs: "Trying to hide your lies is no good for you."

With tears clouding in his eyes; lipstick on his face;
He holds his hand over his black heart, feels it race,
And with spite on his tongue he yells: "You'll miss me!"
She sighs: "The truth's behind your eyes for me to see."

She walks away from him; stepping into her car,
And he laughs at her: "She won't go very far!"
With her foot pressed to the gas, she waves goodbye,
Muttering under her breath: "The truth's behind your eyes."
