Drowning

by Anna   Jun 14, 2007

She's drowning in a sea of Tears
Her outreached hand goes ungrabbed
Her heart lies on the ground, no longer beating
Too many times has it been cut and stabbed

Cold and alone, she bleeds for him
She watches him as he walks away
She loved him and put her trust in him
and This is the price she must pay

Getting ready for the day, she plasters on her smile
She fixes up her makeup and hair
She dies inside as she watches him love someone else
and looks away, pretending not to care

Alone in the darkness she can stop pretending
She takes off her smile and lets the tears come out
There's no one to understand, no shoulder to cry on
No one out there to hear her scream and shout

She has cried herself dry
and Now she's drowning in a sea of Tears
Her Dreams have turned into Nightmares
and Now she's drowning in a sea of Fears
