In The End

by Zeus   Jun 14, 2007

The night is cold and sharp
Like a blade about to pierce
Through the flesh of a world
That will shed no tears
Flames engulf the clouds
Raining fire upon our homes
Burn away the happiness
Now we're all alone
The empty sky will drown the moon
The stars will fall on top of us
Leave a hole on our foundations
And destroy what once was
The water rises, it takes us in
Wipes away all the ones we love
We are now left so empty
They were taken with the floods
Into the ocean the ground erodes
The concrete is taken from beneath our toes
And now our city is being diminished
As our sorrow rapidly grows

This was so impressive writing..Th explanations and images were breathetaking and I liked the flow
    My fave lines should be;

The empty sky will drown the moon
The stars will fall on top of us

...I love the words. It flows smoothly and well I was really captivated by the words. Nice write. I like the imagery as well especially the first lines. That first line kinda sets the mood for the rest of this piece. It progresses nicely and then the emotions come out as well. Cool and dark or is it dark and cool?
