Thunder Acoustic

Talk is cheap; but baby I'm a sucker for sweet talk,
But I never learned to run away; I was taught to walk,
So I don't know how I look tonight; in this summer dress,
Running away from you; tears streaking my distress.

My Mama gave me these heels; taught me manners,
And never before have I been scared of wedding planners,
But the way you smelled earlier; the look in your eyes,
I knew in the back of my mind; I skipped over your lies.

So the only wedding I know is playing all night on ABC,
And My Big Fat Greek Wedding* is good enough for me;
As long as I've got Mr. Daniels for comfort; I'll be fine,
Because the whiskey is far better than cheap wine.

So maybe I don't need to tie the knot; I can stay gone,
This cheap motel will occupy my mind until dawn,
And if I change my mind by then; will you have changed?
Will the flowers I picked for the reception be rearranged?

You played me that song; it scared me half to death,
And I could smell her with the nicotine on your breath,
But you lied; covered up all of your pathetic tracks,
So if there was one thing you missed; it was the facts.

The fact of the matter is; you forgot to wash your clothes,
There was white cocaine dabbled under your nose,
And all along; I listened to the tattered words you said,
But if it were up to me; I'd choose the thunder acoustic instead.
