Who Do You Think You Are?

by I am ME   Jun 14, 2007

I don't care what you wear,
Baseball cap, headscarf and band.
You can keep your corporate suits,
And your beards down to the sand.

I don't care about your petty
"He said this" and "She did that"s
You can keep your damned schoolboy
Macho image under wraps.

I don't care about your payback,
You don't have to be cruel to be kind.
Ain't nobody ever told you that
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind?

So you can keep your empty promises
And the points you want to prove.
Carry on the way you are and
There'll be no one left to prove them to.

Wow, I could really feel the anger flowing through this poem. Its amazing. The last two lines really got me thinking, about the whole "eye for an eye" thing, they are so true! I think that concept is still alive in society because everybody is already to blind to see what goes on right under their noses. Great poem

    Take Care.
