Go Fish!

by *Charisma*   Jun 14, 2007

I'm playing games with my own heart
Since I'm the only player in this game.
Long ago, I dealt you cards to use
There they lie, dusty, but the same.

You could pick them up and be surprised
To find that we're the perfect pair
But my chances of happily ever after
Have never been all that fair.

So have a seat my one secret lover
Let's see where this hand shall go.
Are you afraid to risk it all and see
You've been acting in the wrong show?

You've got your poker face on...how cute.
But the fear is coming out of your pores.
I lost all doubts long ago. Now's the time.
Win or lose, an ending's what I'm looking for.

Baby, what's keeping you from moving.
Playing reality or debating your secret wish?
My heart is up for grabs by the winner
So honey, don't be afraid. Go Fish!

This whole poem Charisma, is a work of art.
I loved the whole concept of a card game. It's my favourite metaphor for love

This is definately my favorite stanza-
You could pick them up and be surprised
To find that we're the perfect pair
But my chances of happily ever after
Have never been all that fair.-
That was an exellent way to show the odds of being the perfect match. Amazing job!

I loved this. I like how you used the cards has a symbol type thing. I didn't quite understand it until the end.

That was my favorite part of the poem. It made the poem for me.
