Society Has Made Us Robots

by Olivia   Jun 14, 2007

We are aimless.
We are without dreams.
We are shameless,
Or so it seems

On a trip to nowhere
Perhaps just to get away from nothing
When did we become this way?

Our hearts are as empty as our minds.
We are strangers now,
Hardly members of mankind,
Now I wonder why

We let things get so out of hand.

The world has sculpted us now.
Our souls are lost somewhere far away
And we have become robots,
Just dim figures in the grey.

Great waves have pulled us under
And like the tide,
We are moving faster and faster.
Soon we will all collide.

I dont want to tread water on my own.
I dont want to be lost at sea,
Shipwrecked and alone.
I want to be free.

We need to make a change.
I will not be a deranged
Part of society.

Its a beautifull poem and one written with wisdom, but ignorance is bliss and its hard for the idea to catch one but one day it will :) 5/5

As soon as I saw the title to this poem I knew it was going to be absolutely amazing and I was right because the title says it all, we are robots. Finally someone who agrees with me! Thankyou for posting this poem. Brilliant stanza, we must all fight against conformity and break free from this robotic spell we have all fallen under.

    Take Care.

Oh this is so so beautiful
You have poetically stated how society is making us robots as to follow one another.
    A great to all
