Hidden, Then Gone.

by Brittany   Jun 15, 2007

Her mind spun absently,
Her heart thumping,
To an off-beat drum.

There was no concrete place,
At least not for her,
Her writing seemed flimsy,
Just fantasy in language.

She could twist her words,
But nothing seemed solid,
No backbone.

Sometimes they fell weak,
Sometimes she fell weak,
But no one ever saw her,
Not behind the wall.

She locked herself away,
Leaving only one window,
Leaving her words to save her.

How can a bitter frost warm a heart?
How can hate conjure love?
It can't.

Tears can't return to her stunning eyes,
But a brilliant smile can be wiped away,
In an unfair life,
She was lost.

Nothing but words,
Her life,
Nothing but words,
Gone,
Nothing but words,
Blown out,
Like a dancing candle,
Only thriving and beautiful,
For but a mere moment.

I liked the word choice you used throughout this poem I belived it was strong powerful and held greatly sad emotions. The flow was good which held this poem together. The structure was a little different because of the stanzas being different sizes. To me the only lines that through this poem off a little was Sometimes they fell weak,
    Sometimes she fell weak,
The words seemed used too much over again in these two lines. Other then that this is an interesting read. Well done~mel
