The Fire Inside Them

by Tessa   Jun 15, 2007

She saw him many times
but never saw the possibilities
He saw her too, but never thought
Then it changed
They were friends
Then more
They kept growing
Didn't see it coming
They kissed
The word spread
They were made to end it
They died together
but the fire inside them never did
That passion and drive for each other was real
They couldn't be together so ended it all
They couldn't talk or touch like they used to
They couldn't even be the people they wished to be
So many times I watched them try
Only to get hurt once again
No matter, they loved forever
They said goodbye, but held tight as they slowly deceased from this world
They took with them the fire inside them, that I long for each day.

    I love this poem (n_n)
Check out my other love poems..
I have this way of turning otherwise sweet, sentimental poems into depressing, sad ones..
    haha..

    My girl thought my poem
"Here in your arms (i wish it were this way)"
    was a farewell to her..
    It wasn't of course (n_n)
I'd never want that to happen

"They couldn't be together so ended it all"
It's like Romeo and Juliet, isn't it...? ^^
    Sad love poem... ^^

Beautiful piece. There was a tinge of mysteriousness that I've noted on these lines:

"...They died together but the fire inside them never did...they said goodbye, but held tight as they slowly deceased from this world...they took with them the fire inside them, that I long for each day."

These lines reminded me about the Parabola, wherein the Prince and Princess died together, but their passion for each other lingers...

    Lovely work.
