My Mistake

I sit here thinking about you,
Thinking about everything I said.
Those hurtful and sad words that came from my head.
I wasn't thinking clearly.
Wish I could take back all that was spoken.

You were everything to me,
Making each day perfect.
Some of the best memories I have are with you.
I held you close to my heart,
Then I ripped yours apart.

I make mistakes that I regret,
But my biggest mistake was hurting you.
I'm only human and that's my saving grace.
I know that I'm nothing to you now,
And that's exactly what I deserve.

Causing so much pain, no longer have a chance,
You don't have to like me, or love me.
Just remember, I'll always love you.
