I Laid My Past To Rest

I'm laying the past to rest today,
burning everything that reminds me,
the reminders will be buried with a letter,
saying today I laid my past to rest.

I lay the unsent love letters,
and all those tears into their grave today,
I lay with a new beginning in front of me,
and I drown all the memories in vodka.

I lay my past to it's last grave,
and this poem is all there's left,
I place the reminders in a tin box,
and throw it into the ocean of lost thoughts.

I throw the vodka down,
the memories were already drown,
the pain is all that reminds,
it's all laid in it's grave.

I'm laying the past to rest today,
starting a new beginning,
letting things take their course,
and all my past is drowning in the sea of thoughts.
