Texas Fires

by HD   Jun 15, 2007

The wind is blowing strong
It's a sign that everything could go wrong

Everyone waits to see will today be like the others
Will some lose there hopes and dreams
And will some lose there mothers

The skies are dark with smoke filled air
Leaving us all with great despair

The ground is burning and I can't see
With all the smoke its hard to breath

Some lives have been lost
And we miss them so
But firefighters got most out and said its time to go

Leave everything behind, there's not much time
We have to move fast don't look back don't look at the past

Will we awake at dawn
To find so many of our homes are gone

You go to sleep wondering will tomorrow be the same
Will we wake up the next day to find everything's gown down in flames

We pray for rain to wet the ground
Listening for any little sprinkle but it never made a sound

Ranchers and Farmers lost there way of life
The tension is so strong you can cut it with a knife

Firefighters every where doing what they can
Fighting fires with all their might
Protecting families and making things right

Now the grass is green and were moving on
But we still miss everyone and everything that's gone

We are all thankful we still have each other
And all the people who helped us get through
Thank you for your love and support
We all needed you
