Oh, dear.

by PygmyPuff   Jun 15, 2007

Oh dear.
The call made the phone ring
again
It's him?
But why?
He's punished from me.
He lied
and paid for the crime.
So why
is he calling?
Oh dear.
Your brother?
No, I haven't seen him.
He's missing?
No, he's not here.
When did he leave?
He didn't call?
What time?
Oh dear.
Your father
he's on the other line.
Your'e punished
from me.
He wants you to call me
to ask for your brother?
Oh dear.
Where is he?
I haven't seen him.
They're back.
The others returned
a while ago.
Did he run away?
Oh dear.
You mom gave him the money
for the trip
today.
Did he stay
at the park?
But his life isn't that bad.
Not like yours.
Write it out
Two thousand times
for lying?
Oh dear.
Can't call nine-one-one.
twenty-four hours.
Call your father.
Call me back.
Oh dear.
The others are back.
Maybe they know something.
Call them.
Call them.
He wasn't on the trip?
It was a different trip.
Oh dear.
My mom was worried.
She called a different student.
He wasn't on that trip.
It was a different trip.
He won't be back for a while.
He called?
Oh dear.
He's alright.
Oh.

This is a very interesting piece. The structure is quite unique, yet, effective. It is a little hard to follow at times but the imagery is lucid. I really enjoyed the suspense that drew me in as a reader.
