The day time stopped

by ben thompson   Jun 16, 2007

Tears freely flow from red and shattered eyes.
Uttering our devastation unable to stifle cries.

Lives in disarray the sky in our world falls.
Pressures from all angles, agony's wrath calls.

Everything so different now without your smile around.
You made it all seem so easy with difficulties abound.

With the loss of your soul's light we all feel so alone.
Memories still resound echoing through our home.

Terrible night of your demise plagues our mortal minds.
Marking a end to happiness, beginning our hard times.

Your kind soul and honesty deserved so much more.
Instead after just 42 years you entered eternity's door.

That was the day time stopped in my humble life.
Searing pain sliced through me like a burning knife

As long as I carry on I'll miss you oh so much.
From you loving son whom your kindness touched.

Happy Father's day to my very special dad.
We celebrate your life, your lessons, and good times we had.

written for my dad john graver sr. who passed in march of 2001.

This is sooo sad. An excellent dedication to your wonderful father. He would be very proud of you. Your word choice and flow in this piece are excellent! Raw emotion straight from the heart. 100/5!
