A young girls Loss

by Jessica Evelyn Maxwell   Jun 16, 2007

A year ago she lost him
sadness in her eyes
he was her world
he was her treasure
she thought it would last forever
then that sadened day appeared
and she lost the one she loved
as she sang the tune
he whispered i love you
and let go of her hand
she cried herself to nothing
never leaving his side
a year later
she still hasnt forgotten
as the song plays
she starts to cry
she misses him she screams
why'd he have to die
she looks up at the night sky
wishing for him back
she sees a shooting star
and notices a famillar feeling
that feeling she hasnt felt for a year
a sign of happiness
she closes her eyes
and sees his face
his voice so crisp and clear
she smiles to herself
she knows that this is real
I love yu grandpa she slowly says
she gets up to walk away
knowing in her heart
he'll always stay
now she can face the day
now shes finally free.
