Flat Line

I think Im going through my stage of withdrawal,
It happens every time.
And its only my real friends that realise,
My heart is on a flat line.

This will be the fourth time,
But maybe also the first.
First time that somebody will realise,
And stop me before I burst.

I closed my door to the outside world,
When I knew for sure you were my best friend.
Locked it and threw away the key,
So our friendship could never end.

But you left yours wide open.
You didnt see things in the way I did.
And all these new friends came pouring through.
Why cant it just be easier like when I was a kid.

If youre socially retarded,
I must be socially dead.
You have half the world behind you,
But I am left alone in dread.

I wonder if you ever thought to take the time to,
Introduce me to your other friends.
Or maybe you thought I wouldnt fit in too well,
Or maybe theyd think Im a blend.

Maybe we could all be just right,
If you took the time.
We could all be friends,
And my heart wouldnt be on a flat line.
