A Mockingbird at Heart

by Krazy   Jun 16, 2007

Agony searches my soul for a place of rest
only to be found when pain flares from outside
anger strikes upon the two
stress levels raising to touch the sky

to settle is unacceptable
one must win or else it was all for nothing
the tempers are enraged
words of pain slash through each heart

forgiveness is not on the mind
while the pain keeps flowing
sorrow fills her mind
regret consumes her every thought
he must be crushed
he's a mockingbird of sorts

he's not deserving of such strong words
I'm sorry is all that's left to say
a lasting gaze
a meaningful kiss
an embrace that could fix any heart

the two return
swirling in a whirlwind of love
swept up by each other
lost in the moment
of pure and true love

This poem was quite touching and heartfelt. I loved the word choice each one was deep and powerful portrayed such amazing emotions. Although I prefer when the structure is formed together neater, I read your profile and it says you don't always have structure and so on so I kept it in mind. Altogether a good piece. well done.~mel

OH I really liked this, the opening was powerful and dragged me right into the poem, with it getting better and better from there.
    Beautiful.
