Lacking Wings

by RetroRavey   Jun 16, 2007

This raven is grounded.
This faerie has lost her soul,
her will to fly.
She's taken off the mask.
Let her face show
and kissed the world goodbye.
Nothing lies with her now.

This raven is crying.
This faerie is learning pain,
learning of tears.
She's taken to the dark.
Letting the cold take over,
she's been dead for years.
Nothing flies with her now.

For she is lacking wings.

Excellent. The rhyme scheme is different but it worked perfectly for you. It was trully awesome. One of the best I've ever read. Great work! 5/5

...Unusual. I like that it does have this dark portrayal and all. For some reason I've got the raven stuck in my head and not the 'faerie'. I like the second stanza better than the first. I'm thinking the first has something not as captivating as the second for me. It's pretty good especially with length. It actually fits the shorter length rather than a longer one.
