A Wedding is like a Funeral

by Romancing the Darker Side   Jun 16, 2007

A wedding is just like a funeral,
Happiness only minutes away.
Sign a small certificate,
And move on with your day

Catch a bouquet that screams,
"You're next, you're next!"
And have fancy decor and photos
Engraved with the victim's text.

A wedding is just like a funeral,
Except you don't want to kiss the bride.
Her brown and wooden body
Makes you want to hide.

The ceremony takes place,
In a small church outside of town.
Those who accept it smile
Those who have loved, frown.

A wedding is just like a funeral,
Both symbols of life anew.
Divorce is like the afterlife,
Except death's not up for review.

The word choice was excellent, the emtion was clear, the imagery was vivid, and the message was clear, I never thought of it that way but you have a point 5/5
