I continue to hear:"DADDY!"

by Timothy   Jun 17, 2007

1st Verse:
He was so healthy, and God knows I never questioned why,
I deserved a perfect son, and the Lord owed me Earth and sky;
I had two good years, and an energetic and happy son,
But I lost my patience, and yelled often; tell me, what have I done?

Chorus:
He's just down the hall, only fifty feet from me,
Why can't I make myself, see what I must see?
My boy is wheezing, my little teddy bear has lost his growl,
He's calling for me, but I just stand here and scowl.
My child is dying, how can I stand here and ignore?
He's crying and he's moaning...I stare at the floor!
I run away from the sound, I have to be free,
But as the echo resonates, I continue to hear: "DADDY!"

2nd verse:
My little tiger no longer bounces, he is quite still,
His plot is very small, here, a top this big hill;
I let my only son down, left a stranger to watch him die,
As he shook and convulsed, HE watched the life leave my two-year-old's eyes.

And yet...on this hilltop...I continue to hear:"DADDY!"
