Dear Mama.

by Birgit   Jun 17, 2007

Dear Mama,
I know you're that star,
Shining every night,
So bright...

Dear Mama,
I know you're that voice in my head,
Telling me every night,
Don't be sad...

Dear Mama,
I know you're here,
You are, every night...

But dear Mama,
I don't know why you are gone..
But still whispering in my ear: It'll be OK.. all along
Dear Mama,
Why aren't you here?!
Why did God make Mamie disappear?
Why did he take you,
Did he not care?
Wait I hear something...

It's you, saying: It'll be OK, I swear.

A touching poem, very real. Your poems have very strong endings. Your style and prose isn't quite developed yet, but you seem to have a clear idea as to what you want to say before you write a poem. You write to get messages across to people, to touch them.
