Memories With Hope

by ADyingProphet   Jun 17, 2007

Perfume-
Sealed on a parchment
Lying next to a glass vintage bottle
caked with dust.
Alleyways
left unguarded by rugged tomcats.
Ripe orchards lingering unpick-ed,
by a farmer's calloused hands.
Downtown lights,
Iridescent under the false universe above.
Archaic apartments
lit up by the dying flicker of a candle.
Pictures hanging with tired emotions
on pallid walls,
slowly losing their legend.
Corridors empty of echos,
Spirited boulevards undesirable.
The towns tavern stands on its empty throne,
only to listen to the forsaken hours of darkness.
A unheard whisper.
traveling through blades of grass,
undisturbed by the lone gale.
But somewhere in the white of Iceland
Atop a poppy field
A crimson chrysanthemum lets hope,
have its castle in Spain.
Underneath conflagrated terrain,
The still seeds of resurrection
Are reborn.
