I Made My Own Mistakes

by CHOKE   Jun 18, 2007

He held me in his arms,
As he whispered, "I love you".
He took my hands into his,
And said, "I never want to lose you".

And love comes cheap,
I bought every single lie.
But it wasn't long until he left me,
All curled up and wanting to die.

He held my heart in his hands,
Only to throw it all away.
He said so much,
But when he was through he had nothing left to say.

I so desperately wanted to believe,
And so I did.
Now look at me,
I've got a broken heart waiting in a line of thousands to mend.

I'll be waiting forever,
But that's not long enough.
I don't want to find any other.
I can't go through it again so bound me to a cell, slap my wrists with cuffs.

I want to fall,
And I don't want help back up.
Because I made my own mistakes,
And now I must make my own luck.

The flow to this poem was real good at first then in the middle I think the started to go another way completely. Well it read kinda choppy from there. I like your use of some words and your explained yourself well but the flow was off just a tad bit Plot121
