Maybe someday

We used to be so close
Nothing could tear us apart

We used to always be together
Whether going through thick or thin

We used to laugh and cry
Hug each other and be by each others side

But everything always changes
Nothing ever stays the same

She said she would always love me
Just as best friends always would

But things are not like they used to be
They will never ever be the same

Simply because I went away for a while
And when I had come back

Both she and I had changed
We had both grown apart

She said I lacked direction
I no longer knew my way

She had found other people more like her
I wasnt one of them anymore

And although I will miss her everyday
I know that just maybe someday

Ill find another best friend
Thats just right for me

And when that day comes
Ill be the happiest Ive ever been
