Look Inside

by Sylvia   Jun 18, 2007

You say you know when I lie
Cuz you look at my face
You see the expression
But don't see what's inside

If you look in my eyes
You'll see, for once, the sadness
If you look in my soul
You'll see something new to you

You try so hard to protect me
Thinking I need it
But I don't, I need you
To see inside my soul and eyes

If you look in my eyes
You'll see I'm stronger
If you look in my soul
You'll see that I don't need you

You think I lie to you
But I don't
Cuz it's you that can't see
What's inside of me

Its like everybody needs to carry around an x-ray, so they can see what is really inside, underneath it all. But even an x-ray wouldnt reveal the depths of our souls and the feelings we hide. People will always see what they want to see, and believe what they want to believe. Brilliant poem!
