Chasing Rainbows

by Sarah Ann   Jun 19, 2007

The crimson tears which fill the sky
Shed from those whose heart I cry
Following dreams, long blown away
"One day the pain will end," they say

And twisted hands which guide the light
Bring scars so deep, etched in so bright
Where sunken eyes watch every sin
And love is lost when lies begin

Now wailing, like a broken heart
Resentment drives our worlds apart
High soaring and sky-scraping, now
With rapid fury dashing down
They say, "Your hope isn't enough,
Stop chasing rainbows you can't touch."
