5 - in - 1 Sofa Bed

by Twisted Heart   Jun 19, 2007

I was spending the night with my sister Lou
A wedding to go to the very next day
Late night on the couch, so comfy was I
Just little old me, alone were I lay.

A bit of a storm was heading to town
The rain hit so hard on the panes
There came a tap so light on my arm
Then came another, and another again.

I opened my eyes and there was my niece
Quite frightened of thunder she said
"Can I sleep with you," she ask as she stood
Then she, too, was there in the bed.

I covered her up and was cuddled so close
Under blankets just her and me
When my nephew crawled under the covers as well
Now in the bed there were three.

The thunder was rolling the lightning so bright
But comfy and cozy once more
I was just drifting off when the blanket was pulled
When I looked in the bed there were four.

It was getting quite crowded there in the bed
When all of the sudden their dog took a dive
Right in the middle of where we all laid
With him on the bed, now there were five.

I'm not one to shudder or make a complaint
But five in a bed is too many for me
I grabbed my pillow and headed upstairs
In one of their beds was the best place to be.
