Poverty

by VYXSIN   Jun 19, 2007

Don't you see these boys
Lying cold battered, bruised
Poor children you say
But you still don't help
They lay there so motionless
Malnourished, dying.
Cant you see these bodies?
These orphanage boys
Parents deceased
Soon death will be upon them
You cant even look at them
Blame the government
They frown upon this
Yet they don't do anything about it
Say they don't have enough money
They lie
They have the power to change a community
But not to save the lives of these young boys
Don't you see they are suffering?
Treated like dirt
Lost their place in society
Don't get a say
They are only going to die
Why aren't you helping?
Do you see these corpses?
Laying motionless, malnourished, dead

This was a very strong poem and I know if you got the reader more into the poem itself instead of making this piece a soap box speech this poem would hold a great deal of power, I think over the years you will see what I mean but anyways nice try Plot121

I loved it. Very well wrote. It flows extremely well considering it's a free form (no rhyme), not to mention I like the message its portraying. Good job.
