Seems like only yesterday
That I was wrapped in your arms
Whispering sweet nothings to each other
Promising to keep each other safe from harm

Why did I send you away so long ago?
What made me decide to say goodbye?
How come you just left without a fight?
How come I never even heard you cry?

After all this time has passed
Suddenly I am thinking of you
Longing for when we made each other happy
When we never made the other blue

Still, I don't even know
What made me think of you today
The only thing that I know for sure
The one true love I had, I sent away

    Hello. This poem just really speaks to me, I mean all of it. This exact thing happened to me and still to this day I think of why I did what I did, and even though I don't want to relive it, but it helped kind of. The first two lines of the third stanza is what really stands out to me. Nice poem.
