Distance is Darkness

by dollwithafrown   Jun 19, 2007

Eight thousand miles between you and I,
Waving with tears each time we say goodbye.
Our hearts breaking just a little bit more,
Each time we kiss and you walk through the door.

Eight thousand miles you travel on the road,
Your heart so empty, yet it may just explode,
As the hurt and the heartache you feel overpowers
You, everything reminding you of me: smiles, flowers.

The distance you travel is darkness, I say;
We cannot avert it, no matter how hard we pray.
Although it is a struggle, a harshness to overcome,
Ultimately it's a gift because stronger we become.

Each mile between us holds a heartbeat to its name,
The fire between us grows stronger with each flame.
Despite our suffering, and the longing we have inside,
Nothing will falter the loving relationship we provide.

    Such an amazing love poem, I can relate to it so well in every way. Being away from somebody you care about is always hard, especially when there thousands of miles away, but like the poem states it will only make you stronger, so true. Excellent job and great flow once again 5/5 GG23
