My Life With A Ball And Chain

by Silent Screams   Jun 20, 2007

Age one:
A beautiful baby lies there and cries,
For her mommy or daddy,
She soon finds out she's,
All alone.

Age two:
The yelling gets louder and louder,
Daddy's heart gets harder and harder,
As she cries daddy looks down into her blue eyes,
And yells.

Age three:
Some kids at this age learn to speak better,
The only words this little girl knows are,
Discriminate, hate, and bad,
She also knows to run when daddy's mad.

Age four:
At this age this little girls dad,
Has walked out the door,
Comes back one day leaves the next,
Stays a day then leaves some more.

Age five:
She sits staring at the window,
Wondering when,
When her family will become the one,
Shes always dreamed. . .happy.

Age six:
At age six this poor girls life is far from bliss,
Her parents are at again,
She never says a word,
Just like her daddy told her to.

Age seven:
Her teddy bear can no longer,
Wipe her blood shot teary eyes,
So this girl teaches herself,
How not to cry.

Age eight:
She meets a girl at school,
She invites her over,
But her mommy says flat out no,
This is a war zone not a play zone.

Age nine:
This girls so alone,
So she starts to read,
About magical lands where everything is happy,
Then she starts to wonder why me?

Age ten:
She got a talk at school,
About what adults can and cannot do,
And thats when she started to think,
Why doesn't daddy like me?

Age eleven:
One year older then ten,
And still very few happy memories,
To fill all the empty space,
Her heart starts to break.

Age twelve:
The school makes her go and talk with someone,
In a white room she doesn't say much,
The only words they can make out is
. . He. . .he. . .hates. . .me.

Age thirteen:
Teenage time mixed with tears and hormones,
She sings herself happy birthday,
No one comes to join in,
Because she all alone.

Age fourteen:
She finds a new tool,
Thats sharp and cold,
It becomes her friend,
It will never leave her not until the very end.

Age fifteen:
She exploded swallowed the whole thing,
Her first real attempt to end,
The whole damn thing to bad it didn't work,
And she said no when they said Prozac would make it better.

Age sixteen:
She keeps from complaining to her friends,
They think they all have it so bad,
Well try having a abusive dad and a suicidal mom,
But her real problem is her. . .the devil inside of her is about to burst again

And this time she won't let it down.

Awesome.. This poem is wonderful.. I like it..
    7th and 8th stanzas, I like them..
It's long, but didn't make me yawn.. breathtaking.. The choice of words is simple enough, but the flow was great..
