Weeping Willow

by Angie   Jun 20, 2007

Weeping Willow

she stands upon the hilltop
among the luscious green
her roots are firmly planted
but her leaves they do weep

she's surrounded by sheer beauty
of the valley down below
butterflies waltzing to the hum
as the brook gently flows

off in the distance
the sky is clouded with gray
no storms are in the forecast
this causes her much dismay

with a tenacity for life
she'll continue to keep
her roots firmly planted
but her leaves forever will weep

But her leaves do weep. I would change this line. Find something that rhymes with green or change that line to, it throws off the flow of an otherwise beautiful piece.
but her leaves forever will weep
This line also flows funny to me. I would change it to Destined to forever weep or something else. The imagery is wonderful, I do love nature poems. Nice job!
